We are pleased to inform you that on July 10, 2008, Cambridge Isotope Laboratories, Inc. (CIL) acquired the Spectra Stable Isotopes (Spectra) division of Spectra Gases, Inc., a subsidiary of Linde Gas.

We believe that our highly complementary product offerings will afford us the opportunity to provide both Spectra and CIL customers with the broadest range of isotopic labeling options and the most complete inventory of labeled compounds available for BioMolecular NMR and Mass Spec applications of stable isotopes. We are particularly excited to be able to offer Spectra’s proprietary growth media, Celtone^® and Spectra 9, as well as Spectra’s broad range of nucleic acids, fatty acids and algal products to CIL customers and look forward to offering CIL’s newly expanded product offerings to both CIL and Spectra customers.

CIL has acquired the proprietary methodology for Spectra’s stable isotope labeled biochemicals and will continue to offer the full range of Spectra products. Both Spectra and CIL are confident that this acquisition will allow for the continued development of new molecules for isotopic labeling and will provide our customers with the tools they need to pursue their research.

We welcome former Spectra customers to join CIL’s loyal customer base.
